M&P9 Trigger finger position

I've been shooting the M&P with the pad of my index finger. Reproducibility has been ok, but greatly improved when I moved my finger to the first joint. Either my concentration improved, or the CT grip is the wrong size for me to control with pad of finger.

Could be the trigger action itself. I usually fire Glocks and when I picked up a M&P9c, I found that the pull wasn't nearly as smooth as with Glocks and I was pulling a lot of shots low/left. Had a gunsmith change the angle on the sear ($85) and now the action is almost as smooth as a Glock's and targets are now much deader than they were before.
Position on the trigger: center of pad of index finger.
