.380 Reloading

I decided .380 ammo is too hard to find and too expensive not to reload.  Bought the Lee dies, shell plate (#4) and turret.  I loaded 37 rounds of 95gr JHP (Montana Gold) on 4.2 gr Unique (.46 autodisk).

.380 brass comes in two primer channel forms.  I had several rounds that weren't boxer, so the primer removal was out.

I used two settings for the seating die.  The first setting used the lawman ammo as a guide.  The HP bullets were shorter than the ball ammo.  Loaded fine.  I reset the die and tried 17 rounds at a longer bullet length.  It loaded, but wouldn't eject unfired.  Will see how firing goes, but need shorter bullets.

9mm Reload

Wake up early and need to do something while others sleep? Reloading 250 rounds of 9mm is a great way to pass the time.

115 gr FMJ (Montana Gold) 5.0 gr Bullseye. Snappy load but the Ruger SR9 likes it. Shoots very accurately.

What to do when waiting for the car glass guy

Reloaded 300 rounds of .357. Found 125 gr JHP on 8.3 gr of bullseye shoots pretty well. I also redid the Lee press mounting on the reloading bench.

Combat Magnum

When I was picking up .380 ammo, I asked if they had anything interesting on the used rack. They showed me a Model 19-4 in great shape.  Pinned barrel, target hammer and target trigger. I can see why this revolver was so popular back in the day.  Shoot great.  Too bad I didn't do it justice today.

PT738 Ammo Preferences

Failures to fire with Mac's Reloads .380 didn't happen with Lawman 95gr FMJ.  Sill having the problem with slide holding open before loading round 6.  Disassembled the pistol and checked the slide stop mechanism, seems to work as designed.  No idea what is happening when it fires.
