Range time 10/4/09

Ruger Single 6: Took a while to get consistent. Not sure what is causing that.

Blackhawk .45 Colt: 250 gr LFP w/8.0 gr Unique. Dead on at 15 yards if I was. This may be one of the best shooting handguns I have.

Blackhawk .357: Best day in a while with 158 gr lswc. I've been doing a bit of spraying with this one, but it looks like I've got it down. 125gr lfp grouped well, but low. .357 magnum 125gr jhp dead on with the 158gr loads.

All over the 5.5" target with the 125 gr lfp .358 dia bullets in 9mm cases. Seem to have about 4 groups of rounds. same sight picture.

Uberti: See previous

One hand shooting not as good as two handed. Using a sideways stance I could not get the front sight to focus, saw two of them. With body perpendicular to direction of fire, could see the sight well and shot reasonably well. New glasses are better, but did not help with the bright outside day and the relatively dark shed from the range. May need some sun glasses to even out the light difference.

Uberti Cattleman 10/4/09

At 15 yards the revolver prints 250gr lfp with 8.0 grains of Unique 5-6" low and about 1" left. Groups are consistent. Can change the front post position relative to the rear sight channel to get it on target. The question is whether I file the front sight or paint the portion that must be above the sight channel a contrasting color.
