M&P9 4/26/08

Not a bad day, but I still have problems initially with grip and trigger. Fired about 75 rounds of 125gr lrn with Unique and Bullseye. Both did well. As did 5 rounds with 5.5 gr of Power Pistol. Add that to the reloading list. Fired a CZ75B with .22 adapter. Not a bad shooting pistol. It did throw the casing perpendicular (right) from the pistol. Being immediately right of the guy shooting it was exciting. Todays target. Started low right and then high. Settled in to center aiming a bit left. Need to move the rear sights. Target was a 12 yards.

Buck Mark and 22/45 on 4/19/08

Spent more time with the Buck Mark than I have for quite a while. Fired a mix of Federal Bulk, Xpert 22 and Fed Automag. Took me a while to readjust to the pistol. I think that the Federals fired best today.

The 22/45 did it's usual fine job. Targets. Buck Mark on top. Each about 100 rounds. Gotta learn to change targets more often.

.45 Reloads 4/19/08

Problems with getting rounds to fit with the PT1911B seem to have been solved. Some very minor problems with the P90. 200 gr CMJ and LSWC rounds seem to be best the the loads I used. The 185 gr LWSC didn't seem to be as accurate and it wanted to stovepipe (3-4) rounds in the P90. Looks like the P90 springs want a snappier round. Will try going up one disk diameter on the 185gr.

Did ok with the P90. 15-yard target combining about 50 rounds mix of all loads below. Still got some left on the trigger.

Shooting 4/12/08

A bad day shooting is better than a day at work. Still a bad day shooting is a bad day shooting.

Lots of trouble seeing the front sights, push, pull, too much trigger. I should have done much better. Still it was enjoyable to start with the single six and progress to the Blackhawk and then airweight. Some problems with the Gp100 taking the reloads. Tight fit in the cylinder seems to be pushing the shell casings back. Probably need to give the cylinder chambers a good cleaning.

Still, had a very enjoyable conversation on the range. Learned a bit more about firearms and we solved a majority of the world's problems.

S&W 442-2

Price met mood and I added this one. Wasn't bad at 15 yards with .38 special hand loads. Great for pocket carry.

Reloading

Doing fine with .38 and 9mm. .45 is giving me fits. I think it may be the chamber on the Taurus. The P90 seems to be a bit more forgiving. I think I've finally learned to load CMJ flat top and semiwadcutters. We'll see after the next trip to the range.

Ruger P90

Bought this P90DC at a good price. First time at the range it shot darn well. Took me a bit of time to get accustomed to the trigger. For all the blocky look, Ruger seems to have made a nice pistol. My target at 15 yards. I seem to be shooting a bit left, but fairly consistently after I got the feel of the trigger.
