Buckmarks

Buckmark Standard.  Mostly Federal 40gr lrn, SV.  Some Winchester "555".  Wanted to jam on feed with the winchester.  Shot well, ~100 rounds.

Challenger.  Not as good a control.  Sight base screws were loose or loosened up.CCI SV

Making Daylight with the 22A

Top, 100 rounds with 7" barrel, Bushnell red dot, 15 yards.  7/30/11.  Easy shooting.  Been a while since I shot it, but the 22A is a fit for me.  Federal and CCI SV ammo.

Bottom.  50 rounds with the 5.5" barrel.  Federal SV ammo.  Daylight was made with a S&W 627 shooting 158gr SWC .357. Soft load and a great shooting revolvere.

22A is fun.

422 with adjustable rear sight

Quite an improvement on my ability to control the shot placement.  Still need more work.  The pistol fired without problems.  15 yards 7/30/11

6/12/2011 Targets

422 did OK, but it is still hard to get the accuracy I think I should get.

Did better than expected with the Taurus 94.  The 94 didn't like Winchester 555 bullets, lots of failures to fire and a few with CCI SV.

Kimber .22 Conversion

Kimber .22 conversion on one of the Essex frames.  Aluminum slide makes the pistol lighter than the pistol with the steel slide.  Otherwise, it is a 1911 that shoots .22.  Did ok with any ammo I tried, but I did have a couple of problems with feeding CCI SV.

1911 sight replacement

LPA sights.

Removal of the existing Bomar was easy.  Unscrew the elevation adjustment and open the set screw.  The sight slides off.

A bit of filing on the new rear for fit.  The front needs staking. A pin punch wasn't quite enough.

S&W 422 Rear Sight Replacement

Added LPA adjustable rear sights to the 422.  Pretty easy.  The original sights came off with a few taps.  The replacement took a bit of filing to fit.

4/17/11 Shooting Notes

M&P :  Didn't shoot that as accurately as I normally do.  Kept them in 4" circles at 15 yards, but ended up a bit more consistent one-hand that two-hand.  ~100 rounds

SR9:  ~40 rounds 3" group, lots touching.  Center of target cluster and cluster at 10 o'clock.

422:  When I remembered that it shot high, adjust the sight picture and it shot Federal 510 very well.

M17:  Shot very well two-handed.

Probably not best shooting day.  Lots of physical activity yesterday, then removing the vanity and vinyl this morning.  My back hurts.

Taurus 94B2 Range Report

Rear sight was all the way down.  The pistol shot 6" low at 15 yards out of the box.  Didn't take much to adjust the sights and I actually shot better than this

Singe action is ok, but double action is heavy.  The cluster toward 8 o'clock is me working the trigger on the heavy DA.

10/22 Fixes

VQ Exact Edge extractor for the tapered barrel 10/22.  It had been having extraction problems with some ammo.   Pain remembering how to remove bolt.  Extractor removal was difficult until it just fell out.  New one in without much of a problem and then a bit of cussing getting the bolt back into the receiver.

VQ target hammer into the new 10/22.  I had a long way to go with stoning the hammer, but now I know what it should look like.  Trigger is lighter. Apart and back together in under 10 minutes.

10/22 Green Mountain tapered barrel

Tried the 18" tapered, fluted GM barrel today.  Not bad, but I'm not sold on the length.

Seemed to shoot pretty well with Federal Value pack, Win T22 and Aguila super extra.

Taurus 94B2

It was there, it tempted me and I yielded.  DA trigger a little hard, but not bad.  SA trigger could be lighter.  We'll see how it does after some firing.

Sunny Sunday with the 10/22's

Wind probably caused some problems.  Neither liked CCI Blazer today.  Federal Match was a winner over Golden Eagle Match.  Need to order some Wolf MT.

S&W 422

Bought this back in December.  Not a bad plinker. 

Second 10/22 Mod

Found a used 10/22 of $120 at Greentop.

 The rifle was about '83 vintage.  I replaced the barrel with the relatively new one from the previous mod and then added a Revelations Tundra stock from Leo Bourne
